World’s Biggest Dog
Dogs have the widest variation in size of all the world’s mammals.
Is the big guy a representation of the father (judging by that urine stream emanating from his nether regions – he’s obvoiusly not the mother) of all dogs?
Last year scientists discovered the gene fragment that controls growth in dogs. Researchers from the National Human Genome Research Institute compared the DNA of several small breeds to that of many large and giant breeds and found that variations in a single gene sequence were strongly associated with small size. The study was published in the April, 2007 edition of Science Magazine.
