Just Barely Under Control

April 9, 2010 at 10:58 pm 10 comments

Video from my friend Paula who is working on an OTCH with her Coonhound Suzie. Coonhounds are like so common in the advanced levels of obedience that, of course, Paula complains because Suzie is just a little bit vocal here.

What a horrid, sassy dog [rolls eyes sarcastically] BTW she earned two high combined in this trial.

    Beautiful video!

    And I agree with Ruth.

Wonderful! Couldn’t help but chuckle at Susie’s sassiness. :)

Spendid, absolutely spendid! What a joy seeing an enthusiastic coonhound working those exercises. I’ll be willing to take a bet which one was her favorite ;)

Gotta love that hound-backtalk! Congrats to both of them.

(BTW, does she gets any points off for the barks or was it just something that technically wasn’t in the plans?)

I *think* that they were the only points they lost. They went high combined with scores in the upper 190’s.

Love watching Paula work those “untrialable,” “trained with punishment” (NOT) dogs.

I can’t wait to see her working with Ziva.

Just wanted to point out that this will be Paula’s SECOND OTCh Coonhound. And from what I understand, the two dogs have pretty different styles.

    This is some talented trainer.

Thank you everyone for the great comments. I got a good chuckle out of this and meant to comment a while back. :o Suzie has been tough, but we had fun at that trial! We call her “The Mouth of the South” when she gets super vocal, which is a lot! lol
