If This Dog Bit Someone…

Press reports would be filled with diatriabe about another ”pitbull’ attack.
But – because he’s a hero who took three bullets to save his owner… he’s just a dog.
The linked story is the only one I found that mentioned the dog’s breed (boxer mix). I’m sure that if this dog had been injured attacking the maid instead of valiantly protecting his owner from her criminal cohorts – news outlets would have taken one look at this photo and featured headlines screaming about another “pitbull attack”.
Best wishes to hero dog Aslin for a speedy and full recovery.

Steak for Aslin!
(I don’t know how a reporter could confuse a boxer with a pibble, but then again I don’t know how a reporter could confuse an arfteen with a Kalashnikov either. Barring terminal dumbworm infestation, of course.)

Well, dog may well have been doing his job, but the other handy slot one could slide this story into is “Drug dealer keeps ‘pit bull’ for protection.”
At least, based on intimations from the rest of the news coverage.
Most of us do not keep $60k lying around the house. Even at Christmas.

You are so right Janine. MSM only attempts to (mis)identify the breed when it has to do w/something negative.

Kind of reminds me of this story.

Funny thing was, during the news segment while this story was filmed, all D-Boy did was lay there licking his ‘nads. The WHOLE time.

Feeling grumpy today?
I don’t give a crap about the owner. I’m whining about the crap coverage on dogs and dog breeds in the media.
Also – given the relative insecurity of banks, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, T-bills and the apparent peaking out of the gold market these days – there may be more people hiding bundles of cash in mason jars than you suspect…

I have been asked more than once whether Audie was a pibble mix. If an average Joe can mistake a skinny, leggy, long-coated, sable dog for a pibble mix – none of us are safe from the breed Nazis…
